What is Hair Transplant?
FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction) is the most popular technology worldwide when it comes to hair transplantation and it provides natural results during the extraction of hair follicles as well as the transplantation itself. In FUE, hair follicles are taken one by one and transferred to the area of concern. With this method, there is no cutting or stitching of the scalp. Patients can continue their daily tasks after this operation. Also, existing hair follicles in the area of transplantation are not damaged.
When will my hair start growing?
Hair follicles that are transplanted will fall out, approximately 2 months after the operation. They grow back afterwards, taking up to 6 months. Patients are able to see the final results within 11 months.
It is recommended for the patient to avoid extreme activities for 1 week following the hair transplantation. It is not recommended to swim, sunbathe or workout for 15 days.
Before Operation
- All necessary health checks should be performed before the hair transplantation.
- Alcohol should not be consumed within 24 hours before the operation.
- Existing medical conditions and prescriptions should be shared with the medical team.
- It is recommended to wear comfortable clothes.
- It is recommended to eat before the operation.
After Operation
- Do not consume alcohol or tobacco for 15 days after the hair transplantation.
- Avoid extreme activities for 1 week following the operation.
- Do not swim, sunbathe or workout for 15 days.
- Avoid any harsh impacts or hits on the area of transplantation.
- It is important to use the prescribed medication and vitamins according to your doctor’s advice.
- Avoid chemical products such as hair gel or hair dye for 3 months.
The implants will fall within 15-20 days. An approximate of 80% of the implants are expected to fall out. They grow back in 2,5-3 months and this period can continue up to 1 year.
